My Public Library

I Loooooooooooove the public library. I love getting an idea in my head and exploring it until I can't see straight. The best part is losing track of time and place. I think that's what Csíkszentmihályi calls Flow. I can find Flow at the library. Did you know I LOVE THE LIBRARY?!

Sometimes I just go in with an idea. Thanks to the library I leave with knowledge, understanding and a brain full of new information, facts and ideas. It is such a beautiful, beautiful thing to enjoy getting smarter.

Today I wanted to learn more about Art History. When I first arrive at the library it is hard for me to settle down. I always check out their music and videos and browse new books. I make a point to meander through the photography shelves and pull a few to thumb (well, tentacle) through. Then I hit the [online] card catalog and find a section. Generally I annoy librarians as I only want a direction and not one specific call number. They come over, tell me to write it down, this happened today, and I restate my question, "Are the 709's art history books?"  "Will I find other books of this topic in that section?" They concede that I can just go and look and I'm off, one sad call number along for the ride.

Surrounded by knowledge.
